Summary and Objectives

PUBLINK aims to support public authorities in becoming central actors in the promotion and scaling of energy communities. The project focuses on embedding energy communities within local and regional energy policies, ensuring they are not isolated initiatives but strategic elements of the broader Clean Energy Transition. By leveraging public sector innovation, scalable policymaking, and the implementation of novel, scalable heating and cooling-based energy communities, PUBLINK seeks to create a replicable model that can be adapted across Europe.

The importance of this projects relies on the reality that many energy communities currently operate in isolation, lacking the support and strategic positioning needed for long-term impact and scalability. Public authorities often lack the mechanisms, knowledge, or coordination to effectively promote these initiatives. PUBLINK addresses these gaps by fostering cross-sectoral collaboration, providing capacity-building, and aligning energy communities with local policy goals. This ensures that energy communities can play a transformative role in achieving a just and sustainable energy future for all.
